Lennox Hearth Products to relocate two product lines

April 04, 2005

Lennox Hearth Products (LHP), a subsidiary of Lennox International Inc. (NYSE: LII), announced it is relocating its Whitfeld pellet stove and Lennox cast iron product lines from Burlington, Washington to a third-party production facility in Juarez, Mexico. As a result of the relocation, LHP is closing its Burlington manufacturing facility effective June 3, 2005. The Earth Stove brand product line, also currently manufactured in Burlington, will be discontinued in favor of pursuing alternate market opportunities that will serve the Hearth retail segment.

“This move is necessary to address increasing competitive cost pressures and position LHP to grow our market share in all hearth product categories, including continued active participation in the stove and insert markets,” said Wendy Howells, vice president and general manager, LHP. “We are communicating this change to all of our customers and do not expect any interruptions in customer service during the transition.”

Lennox Hearth Products is a major manufacturer of factory-built wood and gas fireplaces for the residential new construction market and is growing its retail offering, including freestanding stoves and inserts in all fuel types (pellet/gas/wood/electric).
